Love this duvet cover in the Tree Fort Suite of the Elk View Lodge, Fernie, BC, Canada.
I captured this brightly colored blue bird, known as the yellow legged honeycreeper, while he was resting on a branch.The Yellow-legged Honeycreeper, also known as the Cyanerpes caeruleus, also commonly known as the Purple honeycreeper, is known in various parts of South America as well as southern Mexico. Since he was shy and pretty far away I had to crop the image to get this composition. I was drawn to the lines of the tree and branch as well as the beautiful coloring of the blue bird. I was also pleased with the background pattern.
Award winning photographer, Penny Lisowski, started using a Nikon 35mm camera in1979. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio and now lives with her childhood sweetheart, Chuck in Winder, Ga. to be near their family,including grandsons Ryan and Greg. In 1992 her husband, Chuck, encouraged her to enter her first exhibition at Photo 92. That first ribbon was just the beginning and since then Penny has won awards at many art shows and exhibitions. In addition to the awards her work is displayed in businesses and homes throughout the country. In her quest to learn more she graduated from the New York Institute of Photography, home study course.
