Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The scene: It has stopped snowing, at least for now; Lucy has found her way through the wardrobe and discovered the lamp-post in the forest of Narnia. After both being initially startled, Lucy has helped Mr. Tumnus pick up his parcels. He, in turn, has bowed to Lucy and introduced himself and she, innately kind and ever so polite has responded, "I am very pleased to meet you Mr. Tumnus". Far away, in the distant mountains, we see a glimpse of the white witch's castle, she who has decreed it to be "ever winter but never Christmas" in Narnia.
This scene is based on the wonderful and magical book, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis but everything in this acrylic on canvas is painted entirely from my own imagination.
Catherine Howard Born in Saskatchewan and raised in Kingston, Ontario, I recently moved back to the area after being away for many years. Colour is my obsession, and I am constantly mixing, experimenting, and learning. Working primarily in acrylics, either on board or canvas, my paintings are completed with a palette knife, or brushes, or a combination of both. I find inspiration all around me, in music, in books, or in my beautiful surroundings and complete my paintings either plein air or in my studio. My goal is to tell visual stories, to evoke memories and emotions, for myself and hopefully for the viewer. My work has sold in numerous galleries including the Alton Mill and the Mad and Noisy Gallery and to private collectors here...
