Diane Bombshelter

Diane has been painting on black velvet since 2007 inspired by the "Master of Black Velvet Painting", Leeteg of Tahiti and the kitschy velvets from Mexico during the '60's & the '70's. All her work is original and hand-painted. In 2008, she was lucky enough to make a pilgrimage to the Mecca of black velvet paintings, The Velveteria in Portland, Oregon (before they closed their doors in 2010), and it was truly a revelation for her. She is now working out of Southbound Studios where her creativity is constantly being recharged by the other artists in residence.
