Most think of it as a National Park, because it is operated by the National Park Service, but all the employees, were Navajo, living on the Reservatio or in Canyon DeChelly.
.....................................
Canyon de Chelly is unique among National Park service. Great rhythm here, as mother nature radiates the forest below out to the lower left hand corner and the mountains iterate often the upper left. Great capture!

From talking with others in Cottonwood, seems like we have seen more of Arizona, then lifetime residents. From Kingman to Canyon De Chelly and Page to Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument to Tombstone, Superstitions, the entire Apache Trail to Strawberry, to the White Mountains we have chris crossed the state more times since 1969 than we can remember. :)

very beautiful - love the colours. Interesting write-up - that's a very good idea to have visitors accompanied by a park ranger - probably something that should be done in a lot of parks. Plus you would get a lot more interesting information I'm sure! thanks for the tour!

Bob and Nadine Johnston replied:
It is, there is a trail from the Rim to White House Ruins that is over two miles long. That not bad, but the climb out can be too exhausting if not in shape. As Ive got a bad heart valve did not attempt it., But went into the valley from the far end, where there is a road we took in a Jeep. ;) Ten years ago, could have made the climb.//

Its a Panorama composed of Eight different exposures. . . Was a chore to line up as they were hand held, and the wind was blowing. Its over an 800 foot drop to the bottom. :)
