TITLE: Cattail Prairie
Winter landscape photography, of a wide open snow covered Colorado prairie with a stand of winter cattails and a view of distant blue mountains. Perfect for adding that serene feeling of nature to your home, office, or bedroom decor. Cathy Fromme Prairie, Fort Collins, Colorado
Cathy Fromme Prairie is a rare example of the pre-settlement shortgrass prairie landscape. Drylands and wetlands provide habitat for horned lizards, ground-nesting songbirds, butterflies, rabbits, coyotes and rattlesnakes. Also an excellent place from which to watch hawks and eagles, especially in winter.
MORE LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY
My Colorado fine art photography features nature, landscape, wildlife, flowers, urban, and black and white photos of the American West.
Since I moved to Colorado more than 20 years ago, I have been an avid outdoors enthusiast. In the late 90s I moved to a house in the forest of the Rocky Mountains where I lived off-grid with solar power for 12 years. I loved hiking in the surrounding mountain forests with my two dogs. My love of nature is reflected in my photography. I find nature to be inspiring in all its many forms.
For eight years my work was featured in a regular online column, The Colorado Journal, in The Denver Post.
