Cypress trees grow part of their roots above the water so that they don't rot. It is amazing the many shapes these create, especially when the water's surface doubles the image in reflection. It's like canoeing past one living sculpture after another!
I teamed up with action comics illustrator Bob Lewis. The cartoons appeared as "Lewis and Clark's Explorations of La Florida" in the 1990s. The early black and white illustrations ran in 50 papers across Florida with a total circulation over 500,000. For a while they were called “Florida’s Romantic Past”.
