We spent hours watching up to 35 varieties of these fascinating creatures entertain us.
This artwork is derived from a photograph taken November 20, 2012 at the Sachatamia Lodge in the rain forest of Mindo, Ecuador, South America.
We did pick a favorite, called a racquet-tail hummingbird, which has a very long tail ending in two blue heart-shaped racquets. But we nicknamed him “Santa Pants” because of the fur boots he seems to be wearing.
