at my iPhone service provider to replace shattered glass on 7-year old purchase get the bad news that glass replacement was not covered requiring me to find another vendor; offered a model 16. You can write the rest of the story. Lucky family member will get "summer surf-abstract" case.

Granite arch in California's Alabama Hills with the Sierra Nevada range in the distance
I have been photographing the beauty of America and other places around the world for over 30 years. My photographic work has won awards and has been frequently published in books, calendars and magazines such as National Geographic, Time, Popular Photography, Smithsonian Magazine, and Texas Highways. Originally from Sweden, I now reside in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area). I enjoy many types of photographic subjects and styles, but really love landscape, nature and travel photography. I use Canon full frame mirrorless and DSLRs with a full range of L-series lenses, and touch up my digital captures in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop to recreate the artistic vision I felt and saw when the capture was made, and to make the images ready...
Our return policy is very simple:
If you're not happy with a purchase that you made on FineArtAmerica.com, for any reason, you can return it to us within 30 days of the order date. As soon as it arrives, we'll issue a full refund for the entire purchase price. Please note - Fine Art America does not reimburse the outgoing or return shipping charges unless the return is due to a defect in quality.
Fine Art America sells thousands of pieces of artwork each month - all with a 100% money-back guarantee. We take great pride in the fact that hundreds of thousands of artists have chosen Fine Art America to fulfill their orders, and we look forward to helping you select your next piece!

Congratulations on your most deserving win. It is so nice to see someone win based on the merits of a very beautiful piece and not by begging for votes. WELL DONE.
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks Donna, that was quite unexpected I must say. But great :-)

We were very happy to see such a fine image pull ahead and win the Mountains Limited States Contest Inge! Congratulations! Celebrate life, Debra and Dave
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks so much. I am quite surprised, didn't really think it was possible to win by simply entering an image and wait and see. Very cool :-)
Laurinda Bowling
This is a wonderful image - congrats on your win! It is absolutely gorgeous. I would love to visit that area, but since I am on the East Coast will most likely not have the opportunity. Once again, lovely image. Have a great week.
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks so much, Laurinda, for your thoughtful words. If you ever find yourself in southern California near the town of Lone Pine ask for the Alabama Hills area.

Hi back Inge! No, we were not at all assuming that you were speaking about us! Don't worry about that. We have only ever won maybe 8 contests in the year we have been here on FAA, but we are seeing just what you and Donna are writing about.. that certain photogs are suddenly winning many contests and that there are mediocre images that are up in the standings of votes when only the artist's friends are voting for them upon solicitation. How very silly really! And do they feel good about it, saying they won a contest, when in reality, their friends are just blindly voting because they were asked to just to get reciprocal votes? It is actually quite embarrassing for the artist or at least should be. No, we just wanted to state our position to let others know that we abhor vote solicitation and would never waste the time to do so. And we could never feel good about winning or placing in a contest where it was only our dutiful friends that voted for us. When we win a contest or place highly, it is such an honor and we are so thrilled since it is REAL. Anyway, these contests are just for fun, no million dollar prizes or anything, so we are not going to 'get our panties in a wad' about some votes going awry. Hopefully, the folks doing it will tire of it and become ashamed when they see others are noticing. Wishing you a terrific day and a celebration of life! Keep selling your gorgeous work! (PS we sold a nice big canvas piece yesterday!) Woo-hoo! Debra and Dave
Inge Johnsson replied:
Hi, I completely share your sentiments :-) And congrats on the sale!
Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
Inge, this has always been one of our favorite images of yours, among many! We voted for it in the Mountain States Contest as it is completely over the top in drama and exciting shadow and light. We also added a Vote here. We do not EVER solicit votes and are always so honored when viewers select our image to vote for in a contest. We understand Donna and your frustrations as we see the very same thing... Anyway, always celebrating life! Keep up the fantastic work and super sales. You deserve it all! Debra and Dave
Inge Johnsson replied:
Hi Debra
Inge Johnsson replied:
Guess FAA doesn't like the ampersand character, so here we go again: Hi Debra and Dave. I was not referring to your images and I am sorry if it came across that way. Earlier in the voting process the list looked a bit different and more reflected what I typically observe in these contests. As for your winning entry in the mountain chains contest, it was actually the one I voted for and is very deserving of the win; it is beautiful with great subject matter, colors, and light. However, if you look at other winners in that and other contests you will surely find that very often the winning entries are quite mediocre (overexposed, overprocessed, uninspiring light, debris, etc etc), and that is very discouraging when I see so many other great images much further down the list with very few votes. I was in a camera club some years back, for many years, and the judged contests we had were very much a learning experience, and they were almost always fair. I want to see winning images that inspire me and that are beautiful and creative, not ones that make me go "THAT one won????". Besides the often dysfunctional contests I really like FAA though! And thanks so much for your nice words about my photography :-)
Donna Parlow
Your images are spectacular and deserve to win, but more than that; you deserve all your sales. Congratulations on that. I have not been able to sale anything in almost two years. That coupled with the contest issues and the voter "mafia" have caused me to make the decision that I will not renew for another year. It is just not worth it. So as of October first, I am done with all of this. It is not worth my time and effort
Donna Parlow
Inge, this is a wonderful piece. I voted for this in the mountain states contest. Sadly the voter solicitation is taking over once again and it is very obvious. But this is a stunning piece and in my opinion should win hands down. If only the rest of us could beat the "voter solicitation mafia" it would be wonderful. I know I am going to catch some real flack for that but I just don't care anymore I am sick of seeing it happen. V/F
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks so much, Donna. It's not that I think that my images are the most deserving to place or win in the contests; I see so many great and inspiring images way down in the list of results, and find that frustrating. At the same time, I see the exact same people and in some cases even the exact same images, sail up to first place in a lot of contests, and within just a few minutes. I find that greatly discouraging, especially since I find most of these people's images quite mediocre and undeserving to win compared many of the other entries. I don't know why I still enter in the contests, since I know that the only thing that matters is often how many votes you can solicit, or however they do it. But in my own case at least, sales here have been very good this year so I don't know if I really care so much about the dysfunctional contests anymore :-)

Love the composition and colors!

Julie, I'm so glad you like it. Thanks so much :-)
