J. Christian Sajous, long credited for pioneering Haitian Neo Fauve Expressionism has evolved his style toward Abstract Haitian Neo-Expressionism , a painting style known as "Fracasse" which grew out of his earlier work and is strongly inspired by Haiti's 2010 Earthquake; a native Haitian, Sajous studied art there under the guidance of Master Expressionist Petion Savain in the late 60s. His family moved and eventually settled in New York, after shorter stays in the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
