This painting had a mama - a little 3.5 x 3.5 inch zentangle. What I most love about the practice of Zentangle is that it frees me up to just follow the creative urge without worrying about where I am going, or what the final result will be. As I was working on this piece, I thought of sitting out on the porch for a cup of morning coffee, listening to the birds sing.

In 2008, Mary Begau Wykes made the decision to pursue her lifelong dream of being an artist. Though she had always had a yearning to paint, prior to that point she had not had the courage to pursue her dream. She had, however, always made a point of including creative pursuits in her life.
