Original acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. A painting of 100+ year old Aspen growing on Wilson Mesa outside Telluride, Colorado. These Aspen grow in the rocky terrain on the mesa of a a 13,000+ foot peak in the Rocky Mountain... a hard life for a tree. They are twisted and stunted because of the thin air and rocky soil, but they live on in spite of it.

Ron Patterson

Ron Patterson studied art at the Central Academy of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio where he studied under the distinguished painter of Western Art, Jackson Grey Story. Patterson worked for many years as a commercial artist and illustrator before entering the world of fine art. "As an artist, what I'm most interested in is relationships," says painter Ron Patterson. In each piece you can see the tension between abstraction and definition, the interesting relationships of his colors, and the balance of light and dark.
