Primarily self-taught, I painted my first painting shortly after retiring from my "real job" of thirty-five years as a bureaucrat for the state. I bought a how-to-paint book, a few paints and brushes and began painting. I began painting with oils. Recently I gave acrylics a try and find I enjoy that medium, too. My style is evolving, meaning the results vary from painting to painting. While I don't exhibit or sell any work I'm not proud of, some paintings do come closer to my style objective than others.
