LIMITED TIME ONLY ON THIS AUTOGRAPHED PORTRAIT OF CAPTAIN PLATTE. This is a picture of Claude Platte. In 2010 I painted a watercolor of my husband from the archives of the documented original Tuskegee Airmen. He was a flight instructor who trained and certified over 300 blacks in their first solo military flight in PT13 planes. Claude became the first black person commissioned in the newly formed Air Force at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He was a graduate of class 48 B. He advanced to the rank of captain and had an 18-year career in the Air Force.

ELARUE Some call her a Yellow Rose of Texas and some call her a Renaissance Lady but this Fort Worth Texan is artistically known as E La Rue. Her proper name is Erma Bonner Platte. She does paintings and sketches depicting, nature, Texas flowers, and portraits of African Americans and their life mostly in Texas. Her interest is during the late 19th century and early to mid 20th century. Erma was born July 11, 1934 in Marshall, Texas the county seat of Harrison County (East Texas). She grew up, was reared in and is a resident of Fort Worth, Texas the county seat of Tarrant County. She has lived in the historic Rolling Hills neighborhood for over three decades.
