Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I love this print! Her dress is so pretty and victorian and I can daydream that this is me in another lifetime , contemplating life while visiting the sea

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. A big thank you for your talent & putting out there to buy your beautiful map!!!

Just exactly what I was looking for. Next time I’m in SFO, I’ll be sure to wear flowers in my hair! Thank you so much for bringing back all those memories.

Artist's Description
This picture was inspired by a costume designed by Leon Bakst of a Greek demi-god, a half man- half animal mythical creature, for the ballet Narcisse in 1912. Under the direction of Sege Diaghilev, the Ballets Russes company introduced astonishing designs for costumes and sets that created a sensation in the ballet world. As I painted, I felt this forest creature should be positioned on something like a giant mushroom (or table) and near water. The hands of the table symbolize flight and a deep connection between man and nature. Doing art does feel like one is flying with one's imagination.
I saw this design at a recent exhibition of costumes and sets for the Ballets Russes at the National Gallery of Art.
About Suzanne Ackerman
ArtRoots "If you know where you came from, there are absolutely no limitations to where you can go." - - James Baldwin My art work isn't limited to one culture. There is something of value we can glean from every culture and time period, including modern culture. I've been inspired by the Old Testament, American Indian, Asian and the classical Renaissance. I began ArtRoots with the Bible because of its ancient origins and the opening, "In the beginning." A good place to start is the beginning! My mother collected Oriental art, so I grew up with Kabuki dolls, Foo dogs, and Hiroshige Japanese prints. I'm never certain what will inspire me next, but knowing one's roots leads a person to exactly where they need to go.
