Schlossbrücke or Palace Bridge. Berlin, Germany. Nike takes the fallen hero to Olympus (Nike trägt den gefallenen Helden zum Olymp) by August Wredow, 1857. The Palace Bridge (Schlossbrücke) at the eastern end of Unter den Linden in the center of Berlin was constructed 1821-24. The Bridge was designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel NIKE, pronounced NI-KEY, is the winged goddess of victory according to Greek mythology.
