Nobska Lighthouse near Woods Hole on Cape Cod. This is another of the pretty lighthouses on Cape Cod. It is visited heavily by tourists and is one of the most photographed on the Cape. It is located on a bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound and is kept in immaculate condition. It is a 40-foot iron plate tower; lined with brick and houses the fifth order fresnel lens, which was installed in 1888. The light was automated in 1985 and today the keepers house is used as a residence for Woods Hole Coast Guard officials.
I am a professional photographer specializing in lighthouse, maritime, nature and urban photography. I've been published in many national books and magazines, and am the publisher and co-publisher of numerous lighthouse and wildlife posters. I have led a number of tours for the Smithsonian Institution and produced multimedia slide shows for them and others.
I have visited and photographed two thirds of all the lighthouses on the east coast, and probably have the image of your favorite. Just ask!
I have also written a number of articles published by regional magazines in both Maryland and New Jersey. I write my own photography blog which takes on a personality of it's own and yes, does wander from time to time to touch on...
