Sometimes my back yard greets me like this. It was a cool, crisp morning in October and I couldn't resist. Everything just seemed so perfectly beautiful and quiet. Not being much of a photographer I grabbed my digital anyway and gave it my best shot. Needless to say, before I got off my second shot they recognized me and came scooting over for some fresh hay on my side of the fence.

Years ago, when I was just a young guy tending bar in New York City, I befriended the author Kurt Vonnegut. During a night of riotous drinking, he introduced me to the artist Nicademis Hufford. They became like older brothers to me. Later on Nick, in his attempt to prod me, jokingly said "Bill, if you want to hang with us, you should either learn how to write or paint." Thank you Nick. ' After many years of owning restaurants in New York, and my subsequent career in the legal profession, I realized that I enjoyed painting above all else -- I hope you enjoy my work.
