"North Woods, No. 3", is an original watercolor, 22" X 15", on 300-pound Kilimanjaro paper using DaVinci and American Journey paints. The painting explores the serenity and sense of calm present in the northern woods of Maine in the United States.
About Virgil Carter
Virgil Carter, BWS, PWS, PWCS, TWS, is a watercolor painter, teacher, demonstrator, workshop leader, author and Internet commentator. He paints primarily in watercolor, both en plein aire and from his studio in Boerne, TX. Primarily a representational painter, Virgil paints a variety of subjects, but enjoys most painting landscapes and town/urban subjects. He is concerned with telling stories in paint which share a personal idea, emotion or feeling about each subject. Color and light figure strongly in all of his work.
