This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

About Mary Lou Hall
One could call painting a second career. After teaching school and raising four children, I returned to the University of Louisville to take nearly all of their art courses. When watercolor was not a part of the curriculum, I began to study with workshop instructors. Some of the first of these were Tony Couch for Edgar Whitney principles, Jan Kunz and others for portraits, Jeanne Dobey for color and many others. Each teacher had some gem to add. I have taken several life drawing classes as well. It has been an interesting journey seeking my creative passion and it continues even now. I have done numerous children's portraits, some pet portraits and flowers and of course a few landscapes. Along the way I have done an occasional pastel...
