"Oil Can Collection" by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan.... A terrific collection of old oil cans sit on a dusty shelf in the Appalachian mountains, found in an antique and collectibles shoppe near Murphy, North Carolina...
"After 30 years in the floral and plant nursery business, Debra and Dave Vanderlaan sold both businesses and turned their life-long photography hobby into full-time obsession. The Vanderlaans are both award-winning photographers and well-known both domestically and internationally. Many of their images showcase the tropical landscapes of South Florida and the mountain vistas of the Smoky Mountains and many gorgeous scenes around the world. Their motto is Celebrate Life and that seemed a natural name for their gallery. Their images have been displayed in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, at the North Carolina Museum of Art, Turchin Art Center in Boone NC, the Palm Beach Photography Museum, the Art Center in Blue Ridge, Georgia,...

Very nice capture and processing! I recall seeing some oil cans similar to the ones in the image in the open-front garage my grandfather kept the tractors in, along with other farm "stuff" that we did not take much heed to back then. Wish I had those cans now. :)

Fantastic Shot. Well Captured... I can remember watching my Uncle John "walk" his train engine prior to taking off on a run with a can like one of these. He would stop, peer into the underbelly of the engine, turn his head to listen, then stick the long nozzel of the can deep into it's innards and give it a couple of shots. Then he would again listen and then move farther down the side of the engine. I, being a boy of six or seven never heard anything out of the unusual but then again.... I wasn't my Uncle John.. whom I was named after. Maybe thats why now I stop... Look... and Listen so much.... At least I would like to think so.. Thanks for the memory.
