"Old Bicycles on a Sunday Morning"

the old alleyways
in a European town in France,
the cobbled alleys are deserted
just after sunrise...
The sun is creeping
over the old walls,
illuminating the centuries-old brick
and reaching her fingers
through the morning mists
onto the cobbled stones
paving the streets.
These old rusty bicycles,
well-used for years of
and cycling into the countryside,
now are long-forgotten
as they sit idle rusting
in the back alley
after many years
of sunshine and rain.
After 30 years in the floral and plant nursery business, Debra and Dave Vanderlaan sold both businesses and turned their life-long photography hobby into full-time obsession. The Vanderlaans are both award-winning photographers and well-known both domestically and internationally.
