Homesteading in my family. My grandmother, who was from the Eastern US, eloped with my grandfather and homesteaded near Turtleford, Saskatchewan. They raised 9 children in a dirt floor shack next to a sawmill that my grandfather owned. During the depression, all they had to eat was white fish from the river and, after that, my mother could never eat fish again. I often wonder if my grandmother regretted it. This is not a picture of their homestead. It was taken this Autumn in Kamloops, BC. Texture added. (All Rights Reserved)

I believe that the more we look for beauty in this world, the more beauty there is to be found. If it is an expectation, it will appear and I try to convey this appearance with my photography. Life itself can be an endless creative journey and I am glad to be part of it. - Theresa Tahara
