Fantastic capture! Love the beautiful lighting and your silhouette!

It is a neat capture. We have them too in West Texas...almost every ranch gate. This is a nice one

Thanks a million Jake. Sorry for not replying sooner. I can imagine them being in your part of the country. Not at all surprised. They are fun, huh?

Hi Robin. I really appreciate you putting my On the Way to Forever in your favorites, and adding me to your watch list. I'm truly honored. D.

Thank you Lois. There are a fair number of things like this in our little section of the world. They just appear as you're driving along. I liked this scene because it kind of made the statement to me that Man truly is not the All Being that he thinks he is,

Don this is truly a fabulous find ... beautifully composed ... lovely tones!!!!! This one drew my eye immediately!!!!! f/v

Hey Sean. Thanks a million for featuring this in the ICT Artists group.

Artist's Description

I took this last week in the area of Council Grove Kansas. What you are seeing is sheet metal that an artist has cut to look like a family on the way west. There are a number of such sights around Kansas, and appear extremely life like from even as little as a half a mile or less to them. This was in fact on the Santa Fe trail. I just couldn't pass this up. The beauty of the day, and the story told here just fascinated me. It was so easy to imagine a family, alone to the world, making this very, very long journey. I felt that having the figures and the top of the hill at the bottom of a vertical shot gave an even stronger feel of the lonlinewss, and possible danger, this little family would have been going through. They are pretty small in a big world.

About Lynne and Don Wright

Lynne and Don Wright

Hi Everybody... We are Lynne and Don Wright, and we live in the bustling city of Luray Kansas, population under 200. Big city we are not! Lynne is a painter in oils and watercolors, and having been born and raised on the west coast of the USA, she loves painting seascapes, as well as the local scenery around home, which is also beautiful, but in another way. Don is a photographer, and is more than willing to photograph anything in front of him. That being said, his true love is capturing things old. Barns, sheds, houses, machinery, etc. If he wants a portrait of an old person, he turns the camera on himself. Thanks for stopping by and checking out our work. It is very much appreciated. God bless, Lynne and Don
