Women and Photographers - One a Day group
The front door of the abandoned house was standing open, and I entered, wondering as I went who had lived there, what had their lives been like, and why they left. in one of the back rooms I found a single child's boot and pages from a 1946 Almanac. I still had no answer about the house, so I arranged the boot and the pages in the light of a window--and I did have a picture to take home with me, a picture I can share with you.
Still life photography is the depiction of inanimate subject matter, most typically a small grouping of objects. Still life photography, more so than other types of photography, such as landscape or portraiture, gives the photographer more...
In my photographs, I seek to capture a moment, to give the viewer a glimpse of place and time that arrests the movement of life and allows each of us to savor what is there to be seen. I have a camera in my hands every day, and my favorite sound is the sweet click of the shutter as an image is caught.
