The juicy quinces are a playful blend of greens like citron, French lime and yellows- the bird on the porcelain vase looks as though he is swooping in to devour the sliced half of quince. We instantly thought about the shape of a woman’s hips the moment I looked at the fruit. The maternal quality of women and the strong soft shapes of their bodies. The detailing is impeccable and the shadows add depth to the painting in more ways than one. We can feel a deep and profound correlation between two things, e.g., the sweet quince fruit and its poisonous seeds. Horacio Cardozo

Horacio Cardozo is a self-taught artist who has over 25 years of experience in the industry. His passion for art stems back to when he just 5 years of age. He was swept into the world of realist art by his admiration of classical artists Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Albrecht Durer. The work of these artists inspired him to pick up the brush and create a world on canvas.
