The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

This little palm is on the beach at Pu'uhonua o Honaunau. Imagine you had just broken the sacred laws, the Kapu, and the punishment was death. Your only chance of survival is to elude your pursuers and reach the Pu'uhonua , the place
of refuge. No harm could come to those who reached the boundaries. It also could protect the defeated warrior or civilians in time of war.
