Heidi Smith replied:

Thank you, Jim!

WOW Heidi! Such a view! f/v/tw/g

Heidi Smith replied:

Thank you, Eti!

Gorgeous view!! Beautiful depth, colors and I love the pov! Seems to my that you have done a wonderful job with the HDR process! I have an automatic HDR setting of my camers but don't us it often because it requires going to the menue and setting if on for each shot. That is ok for landscapes, but with birds you have to be ready to shoot multipul shots very quickly! And they never stay still long enough for the manuel method! :D Ramling again! Sorry! v.f

Heidi Smith replied:

Hi Debbie, thank you for your lovely comments. I do not have an hdr setting. I take multiple images a varying exposures and process after the fact.

Artist's Description

I must admit, I am one of those photographers who has long been intrigued with HDR photography. Not just the end result, but the entire process, from the bracketing of images forward... I'm very new to this, and certainly still learning. I'd love feedback, of course. High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI or HDR) is a set of methods used in imaging and photography to allow a greater dynamic range between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than current standard digital imaging methods or photographic methods. HDR images can represent more accurately the range of intensity levels found in real scenes, from direct sunlight to faint starlight, and is often captured by way of a plurality of differently exposed pictures of the same subject matter. In simpler terms, HDR is a range of methods to provide higher dynamic range from the imaging process. Non-HDR cameras take pictures at one exposure level with a limited contrast range. This results in the loss of detail in bright or dark...

About Heidi Smith

Heidi Smith

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I have a long-standing interest in photography. I had my first camera since before my teens. I used a (Minolta) film camera up until about 8 years ago when my camera failed to function while on a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Although a little intimidated, I then ventured into the world of digital photography and I've never looked back. My passion is nature. I started out primarily photographing flowers, plants, and critters that I would find in my garden. I love gardening and the great outdoors. I am always planning my next adventure, and I'll always have my camera in hand. I'm already...
