Caballeros, music, noise, sunshine, families, food, joy all come together is this magic moment I managed to capture over the heads of happy cheering people in a small town in Michoacan, Mexico. Once the vacationing was over I edited this photo I snapped during a Christmas Parade in Mexico. I reached outside of my typical palette for this one. I was especially taken with the rather severe sunshine, typical of winter sun- even that far south and the texture of the clothing. Plus, doesn't everyone love cowboys?
This is a lovely small and vibrant painting that would look great hanging in your home reminding you of sunny days. About 6 x 6 inches square.
Words I typically use to describe my paintings include: timi johnson, alaska,...
Southeast Alaska in all of it's moods, allowed me the space and lifestyle to leap on my dreams of doing art. I chose oil painting for some instinctual reason and have never looked back. I had the extraordinary luck to study initially under Jane Terzis at UAS and continue to explore the magic of painting in my studio at home. I am pulled toward a particular image first by the contrast of lights and darks and inspired, secondly, by something I can't quite isolate in the meaning.
Please enjoy the ride as I continue to learn.
