This young bull moose quietly observes the winter visitors to Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. At this particular time of year, the bulls, or males, shed out their antlers. Even though this is a young bull, with a small palmate antler, his stature ensures he will be a warrior during the rut when the fight for females begins. With warmer temperatures and lack of snow in January, the moose were prevalent throughout the park as they grazed on grasses and willows readying for the oncoming slaught of snow and cold.
Moose are the largest of the deer family and one of the most dangerous animals to encounter. They have acute hearing and appear to be slow and lumbering which is not the case particularly when startled or disturbed by a predator, normally, a human encounter.
Sandra Bronstein finds great pleasure in sharing the beauty of the natural world and its magnificent wildlife as seen through her lenses for over 40 years. Having been intrigued by many different elements, in both the manmade and natural world, she strives to discover new and different ways to capture these elements. Her vision provides a window into the ever changing world and, simply put, Sandra has captured and shares with us a simple moment in time. Sandra was raised and continues to reside in large metropolitan cities but has always had a love of nature and wilderness. It was due, in part, to family travels and being an "outdoor" girl which kept her love strong for wildlife and the environment. That love and respect shows in each...
