Peanut Island is a small island just off Singer Island, Florida. Located just east of West Palm Beach, this island was used during the Kennedy presidential era as a naval base and housed a bunker to be used as a shelter for the president in case of nuclear attack. The island has been turned into a lovely picnic, boating, and snorkeling park with walking paths, snack bar, tours of the bunker and of the ships that dock there during the winter months. This beautiful residence is home to the island's caretaker.
