About Acrylic Prints
Mounting Option #1
Mounting Option #2
Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print. Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.
The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!
All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).
The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.
There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.
Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts. The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall. When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done. The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1". All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print. Click here for mounting details.
Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back. There are no metal mounting posts at the corners. Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done. Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50" Click here for mounting details.

Artist's Description
(Copyright Mel Steinhauer all rights reserved) Not far from Halifax, in Nova Scotia, is a small fishing village now visited by many tourists and artists. Colorful fishing boats and old weathered sheds add the charm and a blue sky does create a beautiful scene. Some say Peggy is just a nickname for Margaret, and this cove was named for nearby St. Margarets Bay. Others say that in the 1800s, an injured girl was found on the shoreline, after a shipwreck. She could not speak, or had no memory, so the locals named her Peggy. But no one seems to really know for sure, just why this beautiful village is called ... Peggys Cove.
I created this image from my original photograph taken on location by adding digital enhancements, textures or other effects. These effects and image details will become more visible by clicking inside the green magnifier square as the cursor is placed over the image.
About Mel Steinhauer
My love for photography began as a boy when I was taught the basics by my father. During a tour of duty with an Army Combat K9 unit in Vietnam, I bought a professional model Nikon SLR camera and dreamed of becoming an artistic photographer when I returned home. A family of my own and a new career put that dream on hold for many years, but I had always enjoyed photography as an art form. Then, after surviving another kind of war with cancer back in 1997, I began to really see the beauty in our world. Ever since then I have been inspired with a new awareness of life and an improved photographic vision. This has compelled me to find beautiful scenes wherever I go and to share my favorite creations with others who may not have the time or...

Congratulations Mel on being featured in the Fine Art America Group “The Art of Fishing”. An artistic capture, no doubt. The colors, reflections, and quaint little community feel are perfect. Feel free to place this work in the 2022 featured discussion for viewing and discussion should you like.

You have a super-fine gallery, Mel! This is my first favorite because I have also been there and remember it well..

Last time I was there was in 1970! Its just as beautiful now as when I made images similar to this on 2-3/4 Ektachrome with a Mamiya rangefinder. Awesome image to bring back memories for me!

This is also a place I want to visit. As soon as I saw it..I knew it was in Nova Scotia. What a peaceful, lovely coastal scene, Mel. You are a lucky man to have traveled to all the places you have. Many other's might have went to the same places as you...but they will not have such beautiful memories as you have captured, no doubt!
Natalie Holland
Wonderful image Mel! I'd like to visit this village someday!

Mel - this is a beautiful image. Well composed and balanced. All your images tell a story. Thanks for commenting on my Sunrise photo. If you can't get up in time for the sunrise, you can always count on the sunset. That works too.
