Artist's Description

Good for man or beast, was the call from the wagon, as these peddlers of 'snake oils' sold their cure alls to the public. These liniments began life as medicines for horses and cows, stated to relieved sore muscles, rubbed in as an oil to the area in question was all that was needed. At some point, someone applied the liniment to someone's back and discovered that it really did relieve discomfort. After that the oil pretty much sold itself. Sloan's Liniment continues to be sold to this day.
