A painting is never really finished, you just stop painting. I begin with a blank piece of white. I know not what it will become, for rarely does it look like what I first envisioned. I start one place and end up somewhere else. A journey takes place within my mind; creating something that was not. I paint over and over, correcting misplaced paint like I could push back time. In the end, nothing is exactly as I originally envisioned. There are still misplaced strokes that present me with different outcomes. I have learned to welcome and embrace veering off the path of my original vision. I have become determined to produce a finished piece of art that satisfies my original intentions.
