Having lived in colorado for over 25 years, I couldn't help but notice when some fellow photographers phosted some images from Garden of the Gods. Having lived in the area for so long and still having not been there, I could tell from the pictures I was missing out. So a little while ago I spent some time down in the Garden of the Gods just doing some scouting. And it's a good thing I did because there really is a whole lot to see and shoot.

So I scouted a variety of locations and identified which (in my opinion) would be good for different conditions. Some would look good if I had glowing skies to the east while others would need clearer skies and some alpenglow. This approach put me in a position where I could go down to the garden with my list of possible targets and just decide when I got there.

On this morning, it was especially unique as we just had a quick winter storm roll in and out leaving a fresh white blanket of snow and clear enough skies for some alpen...
