A close-up abstract of a pink carnation. Although they are called "flowers", technically, carnations are not really true flowers at all. Flowers are not only made up of petals, but must have either pistil(s) or stamen(s), or both. Carnations, however, have only petals. So they really aren't flowers at all! They are just tufts of petals.
