Photographed a couple years ago in my backyard in New Mexico, this pink lemonade honeysuckle blooms so brightly and consistently and is one of the few bushes that can withstand the cold of winter and drought of summer yet still providing beauty and nectar for the hummingbirds that frequent our garden and yard.
In 1996 I read Julia Cameron's "The Artist's Way" and became inspired that MAYBE I could paint. In 1997 I took an oil painting class in Beaumont, California with A. Goodman. I joined the San Gorgonio Pass Artist's Association and Hemet Valley Art Association and won many awards in juried shows with my landscape and seascape paintings. I am a member of the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
In 2006 my husband and I moved to New Mexico and I joined the Rio Grande Art Association and New Mexico Art League. I took a plein air painting workshop "Enchanted Landscapes" with David W. Mayer April 22-24, 2010 in Albuquerque. I started an art blog, joined Twitter, LinkedIn and added a Jo Anne Neely Gomez Art Studio page on Facebook.
