Piper Cub metal print by Larry McManus. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).
All metal prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with mounting hooks and nails.

Piper Cub... It is very difficult to create large sized highly detailed images with good color saturation. In order to achieve these dramatic photo realistic aviation images I have developed a creative technique that uses both photographic and illustration skills....the only constraint is the mind.
About Larry McManus
While shooting aircraft over the years, I came to the realization that shooting air to air and getting the right angle, the right background and the most detail in the aircraft consistently was impossible. So, calling on my skills as a designer, I created a photo illustration technique that allows me to create beautiful large format detailed aircraft images just the way I envision them. I have won major awards for my designs, art and photography throughout my career and have sold my work all over the world. My studio is located in Colorado Springs. I take great pride in the execution, creative process and quality of all my work.

Now that the statute of limitations has expired (I hope....it's been half a century plus), I guess it's safe to say online that I flew a J-3 under a bridge near Altoona, Pa. It was a cool Sunday morning so I had the doors - or I guess that should be singular - closed. Kip, I hope you got that ride.

KIP: The doors are there, top half secured by a clip on the wing and the lower half on the fuselage. Note when flying a J-3 solo, you sit in the rear. In the Super Cub, however, you drive from the front. I learned to fly in a J-3 and with all of its 65 hp, it is an airplane that Bob Hoover (Google that name) said can go just fast enough to kill you. LARRY: Your skill and technique create incredible artistry. What a treat to surf through your images.
