This is illustration 2 for a children's picture book called Pooka Hill illustrated by Hanne Lore Koehler published by Tutkam Books. Pooka Hill is the Newfoundland version of the story of the mischievous Irish fairytale character, the Pooka, who can transform himself into many different animals. Appearing here as a red-winged blackbird, the Pooka has stranded a Newfoundlander on a rock in a bog.
