About the Artist

Judy Sherman

"As an 8yr old kid I would sit in front of the TV, watch cartoons and copy Renaissance drawings. My inspirations were Gumby and Michelangelo. After much contemplation, I decided to incorporate the two ideas. With this combination I am excited to paint in the traditional style that I admire and at the same time include toys that evoke a spirit of nostalgia, tell a story and elevate the soul". Judy traveled to Florence, Italy to study academic painting and drawing. She has received OAC Grants and won various awards for her work. Her pieces hang in private and corporate collections throughout Canada, USA, Scotland and Ireland. Judy teaches the techniques and skills of the old masters from her growing school Sherman J. Studio.
