About the Artist

Amira Najah Whitfield

Amira Whitfield is from Philadelphia, PA. and is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and The University of the Arts for print design. As a child she watched her father paint as his canvas came to life with vibrant color. There was no doubt in her mind that she too wanted to be a painter. Through children of her own, Amira has grown as an artist and has learned to be more creative and imaginative. She works in oils, watercolors and acrylics. Amira describes her paintings as creating dreams, an attempt to bring life, energy and movement into her work with the use of color and subject matter and using the atmosphere of nature in what she creates.
