About the Image

Prehistoric Madonna by Francine Frank

This woman signifies the power within all women whether she has actually given birth to another human or whether she has birthed her own inner self in an improved form. I wanted the sacredness of either to come through my craft.

About the Artist - Francine Frank

Francine Frank

Francine was born and raised in Bucks County, PA. Her father was a student of Walter E. Baum, a famous Bucks County Artist who painted the quaint Pennsylvania countryside circa 1920s - 1950s. She often accompanied her father when he painted plein aire, leaning on his shoulder, observing his technique. Doing so, enabled her to learn many aspects of the craft. She enjoys saving earth landscapes on canvas, prefering to work outdoors. She also enjoys capturing the human figure as well. Francine has lived in Maine since 2000 and has captured many beautiful scenes of Maine both through the camera lens and on canvas. She prefers working in oils and dabbles in watercolor, pastels, and paper-mache and stone sculpture.
