The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

My husband and I had a lovely trip to Paris and southern France last July. While on a bus trip we were able to take a photo of this cafe that we share a name with. Our photo was a little blurry and not good for enlargement. Your wonderful photo now hangs in our own kitchen as a nice reminder of that trip. It is beautiful and of very good quality. We love it. Artist's Description
Protocell hydrothermal vents. Artwork of bubbles rising upwards from white smoker hydrothermal vents. These bubbles are being used to represent and indicate the origin of protocells in the early history of life on Earth. This can represent the unicellular Last Universal Common Ancestor (LUCA), around 3.5 to 3.6 billion years ago during the Paleoarchean era. It is thought that deep seabed hydrothermal vents provided ideal conditions for the origin of life. Magma (molten rock) near the surface heated water that dissolved mineral salts. As this met the cold surrounding water, the minerals rapidly precipitated out, producing the 'smoke', here light-coloured (white smokers).
