The puzzled look on my face epitomizes my relationship with the camera, which is why the images I make are created using a variety processes - photography, painting and drawing, actual and digital collage, scanning. The use of the scanner to create images has been referred to as scan or scanner art, scannography or scanology - all rather ungainly terms for a process which can create such intriguing images. I prefer to use the French term, scanografie. Most of my still life images are created using the scanner, and what I have hoped to achieve in these is hugely influenced by the great European still life painters such as Baugin and Zurbaran.
