Melissa was born in Indiana but moved to Alaska at three years of age with her adventuresome hippie parents, who wanted to live off the land and expand their spiritual horizons. Her idealistic parents marinated her childhood in art, music and all forms of free thinking. She started creating art as soon as she could hold a crayon. She is extraordinarily prolific and has shown her work at galleries in; Charleston, SC, Albuquerque, NM, New Orleans, LA, Louisville, KY and Anchorage, AK.
