This is a watercolor I did of a Quaker Meeting House in Union Bridge, MD. It was a cold crisp fall day. I was really drawn to the trees. The next day I went back to their service. It was a small elderly congregation. The meeting house is still heated by wood stove! This has been an active congregation since the 1700s.
I am a watercolor artist and I truly enjoy the hunt for subjects that captivate and intrigue me. I look for inspiration in natural or man-made places or subjects that I find personally interesting. When I find a subject that inspires me I think of what is the best way for me to capture that place and time. It usually involves taking many pictures of my subject while paying attention to color, contrast and composition.
