The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Ralph Modjeski (1861-1940), Polish-US bridge engineer. Modjeski arrived in the USA in 1876, returning to Europe to study at the School of Bridges and Roads in Paris, France. During his career, Modjeski designed over 40 major bridges in the USA. These include Government Bridge (1896), Thebes Bridge (1905), Harahan Bridge (1916), Mears Memorial Bridge (1923), Benjamin Franklin Bridge (1926), Mid-Hudson Bridge (1930), and Huey P. Long Bridge (1935), and Blue Water Bridge (1938). Modjeski was awarded the Franklin Medal (Engineering, 1923) and the John Fritz Medal (1930). This photograph is part of the Historic American Engineering Record.
