Excellent

The once happy pink chair almost mocks the spirits of those who suffered in this room. Very evocative image. VF

Thank you Charlie for your wonderfully descriptive and insightful comment. Not surprising, I find that there are images, feelings, and even memories of smells and some trepidation that stay with me from each place after a visit. The almost absolute silence in these places are somehow comforting in a strange way.

As a sampling of your work Gary, I find the element of mystery and a semi-parallel time frame intriguing. When I turn away from your work there is a tiny visual fragment that remains in my mind like a footprint or like the warm hollow of a seat in a chair after the sitter leaves. This element is present in it seems much if your work. I like it and find similarities from Northern Renaissance and Baroque periods. Very appealing! This one especially grabs me. It is a decaying memory fragment to me.

You visit some fascinating places, Gary, and capture the feeling of them perfectly... thanks for sharing! f/v

Thank you, Penny

I envy your opportunity to photography abandoned places! I hope to do so at some point. Your images are amazing! I love the lighting and the feel of the capture, just great!

Gary Heller replied:

Thanks Holly.

Thank you, Amy. Good for you, I get an adrenaline rush whenever I'm exploring these old abandoned places...like a child in a candy store :)

Awesome capture, Gary! That chair rules. :) Just visited my first abandoned insane asylum down under. Love doing things like this!

Wonderful detail, color, and light! The contrast between the blue sky outside, and the complex greys in the room are perfect. The chair really completes this. v/f

Gary Heller replied:

Thanks, Karen, I appreciate your time to look and comment.
