Pastel on paper/8,3 x 11,4 inches.
My personal visual interpretation after one of Tonitzas oil paintings.
Nicolae Tonitza (April 13, 1886, Brlad February 27, 1940, Bucharest) was a Romanian painter, engraver, lithographer, journalist and art critic. Drawing inspiration from Post-impressionism and Expressionism, he had a major role in introducing modernist guidelines to local art.
I am an artist and architect living in Lyon, France.
Most of my oeuvre focuses on the city life and urban spaces, including urban landscapes works at large-scale. In addition, I enjoy applying and developing my skills through the exploration of other genres and techniques - still lifes, landscapes and interiors, as well as portraits and live model drawings. I work predominantly in oil, but create also works in pastel, acrylic, watercolor, ink, graphite and charcoal.
