This painting didn't last long in the gallery. It depicts a wary looking Bevo, the mascot for the University of Texas, in front of a wave of conestoga wagons which, presumably, are carrying the fans and football team to the annual Texas/OU football game held in the Cotton Bowl.
J.P. "Pat" Childress, a fifth generation Texan, was born and raised in the eastern oilfields of the state. He graduated from the University of Texas with a M.B.A and after starting and later selling a holding company, Childress moved to the Hill Country of Texas.
