Hi. I am a pastel artist in Texas. I have worked in oils, watercolors, and a few other mediums not so well known. But, when I finally tried pastels, I was hooked. I have been painting with pastels for about 6 years now and I have forsaken all other mediums. I love the bright colors, but they are not harsh or garish. I do about 14 shows a year all over Texas and believe it or not, this year was the best year I have ever had despite the less than booming economy. I do my own matting and framing and that saves the customer a bundle. I think everyone should be able to afford original art.
